Our Fabulous Famtrip to Cap St Georges

After an early Gatwick start and a seamless 30 minute car transfer that whisked us into the breath taking lobby of Cap St Georges it was time for check-ins and champagne arrivals.

After bubbles was unpacking and discovering our stunning rooms with outstanding new technology. Then after a refreshing shower we met for a pre-dinner cocktail at the Chroma Bar. The choice was unbelievable with cocktails that none of us had ever heard of – from a savoury truffle vodka martini to a ‘mind the gap’ – the mixologist definitely made our taste buds tingle.

Dinner on night one was all about the local fresh fish, we enjoyed a delicious dinner over looking the sea at Mesoyios, one of Cap St Georges onsite restaurants – there was an array of choice from red snapper, to lobster to the biggest prawns we had ever seen.

Day Two’s Breakfast was a trip around the world from simple fresh fruit and continental, oriental to an american - english buffet with your own entremetiers ready and waiting to cook your eggs, your way.

Next up was a trip to George’s stables to meet the horses that are available for sunset beach rides followed by a drive around the island to local destinations including a ninth century Greek Orthodox church.

After lunch we all had massages in the holistic spa followed by a hammam and hydrotherapy.

Feeling suitably relaxed it was time for dinner at the amazing Sapori, Cap St Georges’ onsite Italian restaurant. The menu’s range was incredible to unbeatable fresh pasta to stunning meats – I can recommend the Beef Tournados Rossini which was melt in the mouth.

Before dinner we were treated to a piano performance on baby grand in the lobby’s mezzanine from a fellow fam tripper – the lovely Emily.

After dinner we popped into the opening of the new onsite nightclub and danced the night away.

Day Three’s Breakfast was room service with yet again unbeatable choices all enjoyed from our very own private balconies in the morning sun.

After a pre-lunch wine tasting up in the hills at the wine museum, we visited the coast to see the ship wreck where the infamous and rare Monk Seals breed. With only 700 left in the wild,  Pathos is home to 76 seal couples.

Lunch was back at Mesoyios which was all about the local halloumi, lamb, seabass and roasted vegetables – beginning with delicious oysters.

After lunch some of us took a well earned walk around the resort to see the private beaches that are part of the resort to relax in the sun, others sipped cocktails around the Olympic sized pool whilst non-sun seekers enjoyed a state of the art gaming room or the gym.

I spent my last evening watching the sunset from my balcony cocooned in my bathrobe and slippers after a long relaxing bath in the huge bathroom, then it was time for teppanyaki at Bonsai, another onsite gem.

The food theatre was as incredible as the food, serving a range of sushi and meats to huge scallops - all served with traditional teriyaki rice and fresh vegetables.

The last night ended with a poolside nightcap and it was still warm enough to swim in my private pool.

There is everything you could ever wish for at Cap St Georges from the onsite boutiques, wellness shop, bars and restaurants to the tranquil secluded beaches if you want a change from swimming pool lounging.

With phase two of the resort’s build also set to feature a luxury shopping centre and state of the art sports facilities there really will be no reason to leave the resort.

Business only clients have a suite of varying sized conference and event spaces to choose from on-site as well as a completely private 7 roomed villa with it’s own pool, jacuzzi and private 150 person event space.

A huge thank you to Panayiotis, George and the fabulous Cap St Georges team.  Wow, an unforgettable Famtrip that will be hard to beat.
